Willamette University to host youth girls basketball camp

Willamette University is preparing to host a youth girls basketball camp.

The university announced its youth camp will be held on campus in Salem June 22-24 for youth entering kindergarten through ninth grade. Willamette University head coach Peg Swadener, associate head coach Grace Barry and current players will lead the camp.

Cost of the camp is $125 per camper. The university announced it offers a 50% scholarship for those who qualify for SNAP/TANF/Housing Assistance through the State of Oregon.

For fifth- through ninth-graders, camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and for kindergarten through fourth-graders, camp will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.

Camp will prioritize fundamentals, skill development and team building in addition to exciting challenges. All campers will receive a free T-shirt for their participation.
