The UFC is putting all of its chips in the middle of the table on Sunday night with an organization-defining event on the White House lawn.

UFC Freedom 250 is a massive card. Several A-list athletes will square off in Washington, D.C., in a completely custom-built stadium.

The event will, of course, be held outdoors, but The Weather Channel is now putting a damper on the celebration with a less-than-ideal forecast for Sunday night.

“UFC Freedom 250 is facing a chaotic weather setup on the White House South Lawn, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and wind gusts up to 34 mph threatening to delay the outdoor fights,” The Weather Channel wrote on X to its 5.1 million followers. “On top of the storm risk, brutal D.C. humidity is driving a triple-digit heat index alongside massive swarms of mosquitos and gnats that fighters will have to battle inside the cage. While the venue’s massive 92-foot overhang will keep the octagon dry, a single lightning strike within eight miles will trigger an automatic 30-minute freeze on the entire event.”

The official White House Rapid Response X account issued a response, accusing The Weather Channel of “clickbaiting” in its forecast and confirming that, rain or shine, the fights will go on.

The main card is scheduled for 8:00 PM EST with Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje as the main event.
