Takeaways from Alabama's season-ending losses vs. Texas Tech

The Alabama Crimson Tide were eliminated from the WCWS following back-to-back disappointing losses against Texas Tech on Monday evening.
Alabama’s season is officially over, as the Tide were unable to win either matchup against Texas Tech. Star pitcher Jocelyn Briski struggled in both matchups, as Briski allowed a hit in every single inning throughout game one of the two game series.
Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s season-ending series against Texas Tech.
Jocelyn Briski and Vic Moten struggle across both matchups
Briski and Moten were unable to get into a consistent rhythm at any point in either contest against Texas Tech. Briski recorded just 3.1 innings pitched in game one, while Moten surrendered three earned runs in relief for the star flamethrower.
The duo allowed 10 total hits and two earned runs during game two, as each pitcher played a massive role in Alabama’s season-ending back-to-back losses on Monday.
Jena Young delivers in the clutch, hits a game-tying home run in the seventh inning
Young has been one of Alabama’s hottest hitters throughout the postseason this year. The star second baseman hit a game-tying solo shot in the top of the seventh inning, as Young was able to deliver for the Tide in one of the biggest moments of their season.
Young went 1-for-4 at the plate throughout game one, but the star was able to cement herself in Crimson Tide history with her home run against the Red Raiders on Monday night.
Alabama’s offense as a whole goes silent in game two
The Red Raiders were able to shut the Crimson Tide out with their season on the line in Oklahoma City. Alabama recorded just two total hits throughout the contest, as Texas Tech star Nijaree Canady appeared to be borderline unhittable during her seven innings in the circle.
Audrey Vandagriff and Salen Hawkins recorded Alabama’s two hits in the contest, as the Tide’s season has officially come to an end following a poor offensive performance against the Red Raiders.
Alabama ended the 2026 season with a 56-9 (19-5 SEC) overall record, but the Tide ultimately fell just short of their second National Championship in program history.
