It looks like Juventus are truly entering the ‘decisive hours’ for Randal Kolo Muani

It has been quite a while since Juventus have had a transfer saga that has stretched on for months and months and months, with multiple sporting area chiefs leading negotiations before ultimately being dismissed. But that is very much the case as Juventus has had to try and bring Randal Kolo Muani back to Turin after his short-ish loan spell during the second half of the 2024-25 season.
There’s been plenty written both here and especially in the Italian media about Juventus’ talks with Paris Saint-Germain and just how likely — or unlikely — a deal is to happen both last summer and the current one. At this point, there are probably a lot of people who fall into a camp where you just want it to end no matter if the final verdict is Juve actually closing the deal or seeing new CEO Giovanni Carnevali walking away from talks with PSG.
And what do you know? A final verdict appears to be on the horizon — no matter what it may be.
We may very well actually be entering the “decisive hours” of these talks for Kolo Muani, my friends. Not just because reports on Tuesday night hinted at Juventus getting closer and closer to potentially closing the deal, but also because the likes of Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio basically saying “Juventus will have to decide whether to definitively make the move or abandon the process.” That is pretty much getting close to “take it or leave it” territory, and one that we all probably wish Juventus were pulling out a few weeks ago rather than during the final few days of July.
But it’s important to note that Juventus have one more friendly before their preseason tour, and if they are to close a deal for Kolo Muani you better believe that it is before their flight to Hong Kong departs Turin-Caselle Airport.
Over on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano said that an agreement for Kolo Muani between Juventus and PSG is getting close, with the Bianconeri feeling very optimistic at this stage of negotiations that they can close the deal.
It has been previously reported that Juventus’ offer to PSG for Kolo Muani has either hit or even surpassed the €40 million mark. There is also plenty of talk about Juve trying to up the price of the package by inserting a sell-on clause for Kolo Muani, who reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Bianconeri over a month ago.
Despite all their money, PSG has kept a hard stance in negotiations so that they wouldn’t take a hit on the books for Kolo Muani, who cost upward €90-plus million three years ago with his move from Eintracht Frankfurt. But it’s that same player who is still one of PSG’s most expensive signings that is currently training with their Under-19 team because he has been completely frozen out of the senior squad.
Kolo Muani has known the last two summers that his future is away from Paris. And in both of those summers, his desired destination has been going back to Juventus and making Turin home again. It didn’t work out last summer, and he ended up at Tottenham where so much went wrong for both him and Spurs in general. This time around, he could get what he’s wanted for over a year now — to be a Juventus player once again.
The decisive hours do seem to be here as we count down to Juve actually making another signing this summer.
