How former LSU baseball catcher fared with in-state foe in 2026

In his final year of college baseball, former LSU baseball catcher Blaise Priester found an everyday role for Southeastern Louisiana. The Denham Springs native stayed in his home state for a fifth season after transferring away from LSU last year.

The redshirt senior played in 49 games for the Lions. He caught All-Southland Conference honorees Nik Toups and Blake Lovell all season. The Lions went 19-9 against Southland opponents to capture their second-straight regular season title and earn the top seed in the conference tournament.

During the conference tournament run, Priester recorded three hits, three RBI and four runs. Over the course of the season, he had eight multi-hit games. He hit the first home run of his Division I career against Louisiana Monroe. Against LSU on April 28, he went 0-3.

Priester finished with a .233 batting average with 37 hits, including 10 home runs, 33 runs scored and 28 RBIs. He slugged .491 and posted a .368 on-base percentage.
