Here's where 14 Florida Gators are playing summer baseball

Fourteen Florida baseball players are playing summer ball in 2026. As usual, the majority will spend their summer in the prestigious Cape Cod League, while three others have the honor of playing in the USA National Team training camp.

As reported earlier this month, the pitching trio of Jackson Barberi, Aidan King and Joshua Whritneour will be with Team USA. An invite to training camp doesn’t guarantee a spot on the national roster, but it’s valuable experience with some of college baseball’s elite players and a top-notch staff of coaches.

Barberi and Whritenour are also committed to playing in the Cape Cod League once the Collegiate National Team roster is cut down on July 5. Barberi is headed to the Harwich Mariners and Whritenour will be with the Brewster Whitecaps.

Ten Gators are headed to the Cape overall. Shortstop Brendan Lawson, right-hander Schuyler Sandford and outfielder Cash Strayer will join Whritenour with the Whitecaps. Catcher Jon Embury, who transferred from FGCU, is playing with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Left-hander Jackson Hoyt, two-way player Caden McDonald and outfielder Hayden Yost are with the Wareham Gatemen. Finally, third baseman Ethan Surowiec will spend the summer with the Bourne Braves.

Infielder Colton Schwarz is the only Gator headed to the Valley League, where he’ll play with the Strasburg Express. Infielder Nic Partridge, who redshirted without seeing action last season, is with the DeLand Suns in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, while incoming freshman right-hander Cameron Hanes will also compete in the FCSL with the Winter Park Diamond Dogs.
