Cam Skattebo backflip fail is the first official highlight of Giants season

Cam Skattebo was among the hundreds (thousands? It has seemed like thousands.) of athletes who were in New York City this weekend for Fanatics Fest. The New York Giants running back was brought out on stage for something at some point on Saturday. The exact details are unimportant. All that really matters is that he did a backflip, did not stick the landing and ended up on his butt.
Here is the video that caused every single person connected to the Giants to come much closer to having a heart attack than they expected today:

Skattebo returning from injury
You probably noticed that the video starts with Skattebo pulling up his pant leg to show off some scars. Those scars are from surgery. Back in October he dislocated his ankle and suffered a fractured fibula and a ruptured deltoid ligament.
Skattebo took part in minicamp in June. He is expected to participate in training camp in a few short weeks. New Giants coach Jim Harbaugh recently telling Domonique Foxworth he was “on schedule.” He did not mention how his backflips were progressing, but based on the video, they could still use some work.
Look, Skattebo is obviously feeling good. He was spotted doing a number of athletic things at the event today. He’s come a long way from falling down while pretending to get in a physical confrontation with a professional wrestler back in November. A poorly executed backflip can’t be that much worse than running into phone poles or headbutting brick walls.
This is the type of thing that you’re going to have to deal with when you’re in the Cam Skattebo business. If you’re not going to compliment him on his hair, he’s going to keep doing this kind of thing to get attention.
