Vanderbilt basketball to face Notre Dame in ACC/SEC Challenge

Vanderbilt basketball is set to take on Notre Dame in both men’s and women’s basketball in the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge in December, the league announced June 5.
The women will host the Irish at Memorial Gymnasium on Dec. 3 in a rematch of the Sweet 16 game between the two in 2026, which Notre Dame won.
Key players from both teams will return, including Mikayla Blakes, Aubrey Galvan and Hannah Hidalgo. Both players were conference players of the year in 2026, with Blakes being the SEC Player of the Year and Hidalgo capturing the ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. It was the first Sweet 16 appearance for Vanderbilt since 2009.
The men will travel to South Bend for a matchup at Purcell Pavilion on Dec. 2. Notre Dame did not make the NCAA Tournament in 2026, finishing with a 13-18 season. Vanderbilt made it to the second round of the tournament, where it lost to Nebraska. The Commodores will return star guard Tyler Tanner with a slate of transfers headlined by Ace Glass from Washington State and Sebastian Williams-Adams from Auburn.
Game times and TV info will be released at a later date.
