OKC Thunder extends two-way qualifying offer to Brooks Barnhizer, per report

The OKC Thunder extended a two-way qualifying offer to Brooks Barnhizer on Monday.

Barnhizer will be a restricted free agent this offseason, meaning OKC will have the option to match any offers he receives from other NBA teams. Spotrac’s Keith Smith first reported the news.

OKC selected Barnhizer in the second round (No. 44 overall) of the 2025 NBA Draft. It then signed the 6-foot-5 forward from Northwestern to a two-way contract.

Barnhizer was effective during his time with the Thunder’s G League affiliate, the OKC Blue, last season. He averaged 18.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 32 minutes during his 11 appearances. He also shot 58.5% from the field and 61.9% from deep on 1.9 attempts per game.

That efficiency didn’t translate to the next level, though. Barnhizer averaged 1.7 points and 2 rebounds in 8.7 minutes during his 40 appearances with the Thunder. He shot 38% from the field and 29.2% from deep.

Each team can have a maximum of three players on two-way contracts. OKC signed Josh Dix, an undrafted rookie out of Creighton, to a two-way deal on June 24. It also used the No. 41 pick in the 2026 draft to select Kentucky’s Otega Oweh, who figures to ink a two-way deal with the team.
