Evan Phillips, Brock Stewart continue rehab assignments

LOS ANGELES— Evan Phillips pitched a scoreless inning for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, the fifth appearance of his minor league rehab assignment. So far Phillips, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, has pitched every third day, totaling a run in 4 2/3 innings, with three walks and four strikeouts.
Brock Stewart, who pitched on Friday and Sunday for Class-A Ontario, is expected to continue his rehab this week after missing five-plus weeks with a bone spur in his left foot.
“The plan for him is to go back-to-back at some point soon,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday. “Then once he passes that test, it’ll be a real conversation to get him back with us.”
The location of those back-to-back outings for Stewart hasn’t yet been announced.
Player of the day
Payton Martin had the longest outing of his career, going 6 1/3 innings for Double-A Tulsa on Tuesday. He allowed three runs (two earned) and struck out four in the no-decision, with no walks. Martin has now lasted at least six innings in each of his last three starts.
Since the start of May, Martin has a 2.95 ERA in seven starts, with 34 strikeouts and 19 walks in 42 2/3 innings.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Comets managed only one run in a loss to the Sacramento River Cats (Giants). Alek Thomas had two of the four Oklahoma City hits.
José Rodríguez pitched one inning as the first reliever up in a bullpen game, in his first game for the Comets since tearing his ACL last September. Two singled and a walk started his game, and two runs scored against the right-hander.
A five-run third inning off Ronan Kopp and Nick Frasso put the game away for Sacramento.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers rallied for three runs in the top of the 10th inning, then held on to beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals).
Had the game been decided in nine innings, Mike Sirota’s on-base streak would have ended, as he was hitless in his first four at-bats. But after Tulsa took the lead in the top of the 10th, he added a two-run double during the frame to extend his streak to 54 straight games reaching base, longest in the minors this season.
Tulsa needed those extra runs because Nick Robertson, who pitched a scoreless ninth, allowed a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th. Robertson got the final two outs to finish out the win. He allowed zero runs in his first 18 games and 25 1/3 innings this season, but has allowed an earned run in each of his last two appearances.
Earlier in Tuesday’s game, catcher Frank Rodriguez hit a two-run home run and Jake Gelof hit a solo shot.
High-A Great Lakes
The Great Lakes series opener with the Lake County Captains (Guardians) was canceled due to rain, and won’t be made up.
The first half of the schedule runs through Thursday, and right now Great Lakes and Lake County are each 35-26 (.574), with Dayton 37-27 (.578) a half-game up while fighting for a playoff berth in the East Division. Great Lakes and Lake County have three first-half games remaining, while Dayton has two.
Great Lakes and Lake County on Wednesday are making up a rainout from back on May 9. That game was in Ohio, which means the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader will be a Lake County home game despite being played at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan, the home of the Loons.
Class-A Ontario
Tower Buzzers starter Mason Estrada was pounded for three home runs and eight total runs in his three innings in a blowout loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Angels). The Quakes scored the first 13 runs of the game.
Chase Harlan hit a two-run home run for Ontario in defeat.
Arizona Complex League
A pair of Great Lakes Loons are rehabbing in the desert, with infielder Logan Wagner starting a rehab assignment on Friday after missing a month on the injured list, and infielder/outfielder Sam Mongelli on Monday in Arizona playing his first game since 2024.
Transactions
Triple-A: Right-hander José Rodríguez was activated off the 60-day injured list after pitching four rehab games in Arizona, where he struck out 10 of his 19 batters faced with a 3.38 ERA.
High-A: Right-hander Seamus Barrett was promoted to Great Lakes after allowing runs in 12 of his 15 appearances for Ontario, none longer than five outs. The 10th-round draft pick in 2024 out of Loyola Marymount had a 10.61 ERA in 18 2/3 innings with 24 strikeouts and 11 walks after missing all of last season on the injured list. The Dodgers signed first baseman and catcher Chase Adkison, who was released by the St. Louis Cardinals last Thursday, and assigned him to the Loons.
Tuesday scores

River Ryan would have been on five days rest to start Tuesday for the Comets, but Oklahoma City went with a bullpen game instead. How much of the decision to push him back a day was related to Shohei Ohtani working his way through left knee inflammation remains to be seen.
