Wisconsin's newest coach wins gold at 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup

Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball assistant coach Julia Ford added a prestigious win to her resume.
Earlier in the week, Wisconsin WBB congratulated Ford on winning gold with Team USA at the 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup.
Obviously, the three-on-three atmosphere is different from what Robin Pingeton’s squad has to worry about in the world of college basketball, but Ford still brings valuable assets to the team.
Entering her first year with the Badgers, Ford has seven years of collegiate coaching experience. The team highlights her “strong background in player development, international competition, and program building.”
If this recent win wasn’t enough to highlight her skills, Ford also helped guide Team USA’s U19 squad to a 14-2 record in the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.
Pingeton has had her eye on Ford for quite some time as the two spent a pair of seasons together at Missouri. Now, the Badgers coaching staff is the best it’s been in years ahead of the 2026-27 season.
