Three-Star DT Jason Johnson sets commitment date

With official visits in the rearview, we are now in the stage of the cycle where recruits are in decision making mode and setting dates to reveal their commitments.
The Longhorns already received a couple commitments today and now another recent official visitor in Atascocita (TX) three-star defensive tackle Jason Johnson announced this afternoon that his commitment isn’t far off.
Johnson was on campus over the weekend to officially visit the Longhorns and following his trip to Austin we have already seen his recruitment start to trend towards the Burnt Orange.
With Kasi Currie and Tyler Alexander already part of the equation for the 2027 class along the interior defensive line, spots are already limited. Johnson reserving his spot in the class makes a lot of sense considering the timing and how things have quickly played out following his visit.
If Johnson opts to become part of the class, that will give Texas three defensive tackles and will allow them to big game hunt for the remainder of the cycle and be very selective with how they allocate their resources.
