Kayshon Boutte remains on the trade rumor mill.
It can’t be an easy place for the New England Patriots‘ wide receiver to spend his offseason. Is he going somewhere else, or not? No one really knows.
On Monday, Pats head coach Mike Vrabel broke down his perspective of everything, essentially using a portion of his press conference to praise Boutte for putting up with the rumors.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him and the way he’s handled these different situations and conversations outside of here and the noise,” Vrabel told reporters. “That doesn’t affect his performance on the field.”
Boutte is likely to be New England’s WR3 if he remains with the Patriots by Week 1.
A.J. Brown will lead the group after his trade from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Romeo Doubs should be the WR2 after signing in free agency from the Green Bay Packers.

Then there’s Boutte leading the best of the rest.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Kayshon,” Vrabel said on Monday. “We went through this last offseason. He had a great offseason and a good training camp and that played out during the season.”
Boutte had 551 receiving yards in 2025. He had 33 catches — 27 of them for first downs, the other 6 for touchdowns.
He’s a playmaker down the field for Drake Maye, and other teams surely wouldn’t mind adding that ability if the price is right.
New England will have to decide once and for all what it wants to do with Boutte — but in the meantime, Boutte is apparently handling the situation as well as he can.
