Former Ravens QB Chris Redman leads UFL expansion team to title game

Chris Redman’s journey as a first-year head coach in the UFL has quickly turned into one of the league’s most compelling storylines. Leading an expansion Louisville Kings team all the way to the championship game, the former Ravens quarterback admitted even he didn’t expect the turnaround to happen this fast. Speaking on The Lounge with Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing, Redman reflected on how quickly things clicked for him in coaching after stepping away from playing and the business world.

“I didn’t know I like it this much,” Redman said, describing his first year leading the program.

Despite early inconsistency, the Kings found their identity late in the season and surged into the title game.

“We started a little slow and now we’re playing in the championship game,” he added.

Redman credited the culture and trust built inside the locker room, especially with a staff filled with former Baltimore Ravens ties, for accelerating the team’s growth. For him, the opportunity wasn’t just about winning—it was about building something from the ground up and watching it come together in real time.
