Football: TCU unveils new alternate uniform for 2026 season opener in Dublin

TCU football announced new alternate uniforms the Horned Frogs will wear when they travel overseas for their 2026 season opener against North Carolina in Dublin, Ireland. TCU, which already revealed its Clover Frog helmets, shared new black uniforms that show a return to the “Frog Skin” number design as well as a new “Horned Collar” around the neck and shoulder areas. TCU and North Carolina will kick off at 11 a.m. Aug. 29.

It’s been several years since the Horned Frogs last had the Frog Skin numbers on their uniforms. The design, which first appeared near the end of TCU’s Mountain West run and through the early Big 12 days, went away in 2015 when the program revealed their Frog Skin uniforms. When TCU announced new uniforms in 2019, which included the iconic Spiked Collar design, Frog Skin numbers were kept off the designs as well. The Horned Frogs once again showcased new uniforms in 2024, with Frog Skin numbers absent once again.

The Horned Collar design is a brand-new pattern not seen on a TCU uniform before. The red-and-white design is slightly reminiscent of TCU’s men’s basketball uniforms, revealed in 2022, which feature a zig-zag design with the program’s purple, white and a hint of red. Also noteworthy is that the “Carter Boys” slogan adopted a few years ago is no longer on the back collar tag.
