ESPN ranks Georgia commit as nation's No. 1 QB

Five-star Georgia Bulldogs quarterback commitment Jayden Wade is one of the nation’s best recruits in the rising junior class. In fact, ESPN ranks Wade as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the class of 2028. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound passer is the No. 4 recruit in the 2028 cycle, per ESPN. Wade is one of only four players ranked as a five-star in ESPN’s top-300.
Wade has been committed to Georgia since November 2025 and plays high school football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. IMG Academy is one of the nation’s best high school programs and has produced recent Georgia stars like Nolan Smith and Ellis Robinson.
Wade is a dual-threat quarterback and has several schools trying to flip him. Wade along with four-star tight end Asa Wall are Georgia’s two commitments in the class of 2028, which is ranked No. 3 in America. In addition to Wade, several SEC programs are seeking to flip Wall.
The other players that are ranked as five-stars in the 2028 cycle for ESPN are wide receiver Brysen Wright, defensive tackle Geraci Carson and defensive tackle Kellan Hall. All of the other five-stars are uncommitted.
Wade’s commitment is an outstanding start for Georgia’s class of 2028. He could be Georgia’s quarterback of the future. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia are primarily focused on the class of 2027 right now, which has the early signing day coming up in December.
