Browns' WR Jerry Jeudy's future on the line in the 2026 season

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is coming up on one of the most important seasons in his football career. His time in Cleveland so far has been up and down in his first two years.
He was the replacement for Amari Cooper when Cleveland decided to move on from the veteran, which was a move they timed up perfectly. Andrew Berry struck a deal with the Denver Broncos to send a fifth and sixth-round pick to acquire the four-year receiver.
Jeudy was a former first-round pick from Alabama who was just oozing with hype. He had always had elite speed, and while at Alabama, his speed significantly overshadowed any of the flaws in his game, of which there were many. One of the major ones, at least when he came to the NFL, has been his drop rate.
Last year, he finished with 10 drops on the year, which was tied with Detroit’s Amon Ra St. Brown for second place behind another Lion, Jameson Williams.
The volatility in Jeudy’s game is what is the risky part. Is he more like the guy who had 1,229 yards in 2024, or is he more like the guy who had 602 yards and 10 drops last year? 2026 is here to find that answer.
Jerry Jeudy has the most to prove on Cleveland’s roster of anyone not named Deshaun Watson.
As Jeudy looks towards the 2026 season, it is incredibly significant not only for his time in Cleveland but also for his future in the NFL. If he has a down season, there is a really good chance that Cleveland will move on from him as they continue on their youth movement on the roster.

If the Browns do move off of him and he is coming off of two back-to-back down seasons, his wallet will definitely take a hit with his next contract.
Now, the flip side of this is also in play.
If Jeudy comes out and lights the world on fire in 2026, goes for over 1,000 yards, and fits in well with the youngsters that the Browns brought in, then he could be looking at another three-year contract in Cleveland, and how great would that be for the Browns? It would give their budding stars a veteran in the room who can teach and guide them until they take the baton from the veterans on the team.
It’s going to go one of two ways. Either Jeudy has a neutral or down year, and the Browns move on from him, or he lights it up and becomes a key piece of the Browns moving forward. Either way, something significant is going to happen for his future, and it all depends on his production next year.
