England slump to goalless draw with stubborn Ghana

England failed to find a way past a stubborn Ghana side in their second game of the 2026 World Cup as they slumped to a goalless draw.
Harry Kane spurned the best chance of the game late in the second half, firing over from a few yards out after Nico O’Reilly’s header had come back off the crossbar.
Thomas Tuchel’s side huffed and puffed but struggled to find any way through Ghana’s deep defence for much of the game.
Ghana also threatened on occasion, most notably when Prince Adu burst through on goal but was let down by his touch with the goal gaping in the second half.

The draw means England move to four points in Group L, which is more than likely enough to reach the knockout stages. But they spurned the chance to guarantee their place in the round of 32.
They face Panama in their final game of the group stages, hoping to secure top spot and progression to the next round.
