The PFL is heading back to North Carolina, and it’s bringing a local favorite.

On Wednesday, the PFL announced it will host an event on Aug. 7 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C., headlined by a middleweight matchup between Bryan Battle and Dalton Rosta.

Though he was born in Missouri, Battle (12-3, 1 no-contest) grew up in Charlotte and still trains there. He’s best known for The Ultimate Fighter 29, Battle, but he left the UFC in 2024 after repeated issues making weight. After a successful foray into Dirty Boxing, Battle made his PFL debut in March, losing to former champion Johnny Eblen via submission.

Rosta (11-3) was a staple of Bellator before joining PFL in 2025, where he made it to the finals of that year’s middleweight tournament, losing to Fabien Edwards. Rosta attempted to rebound in March, but was knocked out by Impa Kasanganay.

The card will also feature two other middleweight bouts, Josh Silveira taking on Aaron Jeffery, and Josh Fremd facing Jhony Gregory.

Silveira (15-5) is a PFL mainstay who lost to Kasanganay in the finals of the 2023 middleweight tournament. Most recently, he won a decision over Murad Ramazanov in August. Jeffery (16-6), like Rosta, spent most of his career in Bellator before moving to PFL in 2025. In his most recent fight, he lost a split decision to Rosta last June.

Fremd (12-6) has competed in several organizations, most recently picking up a victory in BKFC in April. Gregory (10-5) joined PFL last year, where he’s gone 1-1 in the promotion, most recently defeating Haider Khan at PFL Dubai in February.

The PFL Charlotte main card will air live on ESPN in the U.S. beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
