Atletico Madrid defender sends playful warning to Real Madrid’s new signing: ‘Will give him a whack’

Now, another Spain international has shared his reaction to one of the summer’s most unexpected transfers.
Pubill reacts to Cucurella’s Real Madrid move
Speaking in an interview with MARCA, Atletico Madrid defender Marc Pubill admitted that Cucurella’s move became an immediate topic of conversation among the players.

The transfer was completed in a matter of days, leaving many within the national team setup surprised by how events unfolded.
Pubill was among those asked about the move and responded with a light-hearted warning aimed at his international teammate.
“Cucurella to Real Madrid? In the next derby, I’ll give him a whack,” he said.
It must be taken into account that the comment was made in good humour, reflecting the relaxed relationship that exists between many of Spain’s internationals despite their club rivalries.

Asked whether Cucurella had been the target of jokes in the dressing room, the Atletico Madrid defender explained,
“He acknowledged it. We’ve made jokes about that.”
When pressed further on the conversations that followed, Pubill added,
“Nothing, just that he’s always a joker and we joke around with him, but the truth is we all found out the moment it was official.
“We were a little surprised, but very happy for him. I hope he enjoys it and that’s it,” he concluded.
