Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward made an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City this week, where the second-year signal-caller learned just how much his most expensive sports card has sold for. Ward’s response to the collector who shelled out $81,000 for a 1-of-1 rookie card tells you everything you need to know about how he views his trajectory heading into Year 2.
Fanatics Fest, the annual event put on by Fanatics owner Michael Rubin celebrating collectibles and celebrity in sports, draws some of the biggest names in the industry each year. Ward was among them, and during an on-camera interview posted to Instagram, he was asked to guess the highest sale price for one of his cards.
“I’d probably say maybe $75,000 to $100,000, maybe a little more,” Ward said.
He wasn’t far off. The card in question, a 2025 Prizm Cam Ward Black Finite 1-of-1 rookie card graded PSA Gem Mint 10, sold on FanaticsCollect.com on May 22 after 51 bids for a final price of $81,000. A PSA 10 means the card is in perfect condition with absolutely no blemishes. Only one exists in the world.
Ward’s message to the buyer
When the interviewer told Ward the exact number, he leaned into it.
“Yeah, that’s good. We got to make that price go up some more,” Ward said.
Asked specifically what message he had for the collector, Ward didn’t hesitate.
“You’re a smart man. I’m going to make you some more money,” Ward said.
Cam Ward is, obviously, betting on himself. For what it’s worth, $81,000 is honestly the tip of the iceberg when you consider what this type of card does for more proven quarterbacks. The same parallel for established franchise passers regularly climbs well into six figures. For legends with Super Bowl rings and Hall of Fame credentials, you’re talking seven figures and beyond.
