Taylor, 32, spent seven seasons in the league after San Francisco drafted him in the fifth round out of Louisiana Tech in 2017. He played four of those seasons with the 49ers, sandwiched around stints with the Bengals (two seasons) and Bears (one season).
Across his career, Taylor caught 88 passes for 845 yards and three touchdowns. He also carved out a role as a punt returner, fielding 112 returns for 1,051 yards. His best statistical season came right out of the gate. As a rookie in 2017, Taylor hauled in 43 receptions for 430 yards and two touchdowns, establishing himself as a reliable slot option in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. He missed the entire 2019 season after suffering a setback from offseason foot surgery.
Taylor’s NFL journey came full circle in 2024, when the 49ers brought him back to the roster after he spent three seasons away from the team. However, he only played two games that year and caught one pass for 11 yards in Week 18. The reunion was cut short, too, after San Francisco placed him on injured reserve a year later with an undisclosed injury, and he never took the field for the team again.
No further details on his post-NFL plans have been announced.
