Derry's Doyle named to National League roster for Futures Game

Derry resident and St. Louis Cardinals prospect Liam Doyle will play for the National League in the 2026 All-Star Futures Game on Sunday (noon start time).
Doyle, a left-handed pitcher, is the No. 22 prospect in Minor League Baseball, according to MLB.com.
The former Pinkerton Academy star is currently playing his first full pro season for the Double-A Springfield (Missouri) Cardinals. The 22-year-old owns a 1-5 record over 14 games for Springfield, logging a 5.46 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 56 innings.
St. Louis selected Doyle with the fifth overall pick in last year’s MLB Draft.
While playing for the University of Tennessee last year, Doyle set the program record for strikeouts in a single season and finished second in the country in strikeouts (164). He was finalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy after posting a 10-4 record and a 3.20 ERA for the Volunteers.
