Andrés Cantor totally lost his mind after Lionel Messi’s magical tying goal for Argentina

How lucky are we? We just witnessed not only one of the greatest comebacks in men’s World Cup history but also one of the greatest moments in the legendary career of the soccer GOAT, Lionel Messi.
Let’s fast-forward to the near end of the game. After falling behind 2-0 to underdog Egypt, reigning World Cup champion Argentina had its back against the wall. Either pull a rabbit out of a hat or the champs’ reign and Messi’s illustrious international career would come to a screeching halt in the Round of 16. Somehow, the Argentinians did just that. They pulled off the unbelievable with three goals at the 79th, 83rd, and 93rd minute marks.
It is that beautiful second goal, scored by Messi to bring his country back from the brink, that will be especially remembered for years to come. And on Telemundo, fellow Argentinian and legendary announcer Andrés Cantor more than met the moment for one of the most monumental chapters in Messi’s all-time story.
I mean, if we really think about it, Cantor totally lost his mind and voice. And it was so appropriate given the stakes:
¡¡¡GOLAAAAAZO DE ARGENTINA!!! ¡¡¡GOLAAAZO DE LIONEL ANDRÉS MESSI!!! ¡¡¡APARECIÓ EL 10!!!

In iconic sports moments like this, we can only hope that athletes like Messi deliver their absolute best when things look grim. That much should be expected. It is such a treat that Cantor, a special and beloved announcer in his own right, also rose to the occasion to make this Argentina comeback truly unforgettable.
Who will Argentina play in the quarterfinals of the World Cup?
Argentina will play the winner of Colombia vs. Switzerland on Saturday, July 11th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
