Vote for the 2026 Daily News Boys High School Sports Team of the Year

They all left quite the legacy. The candidates for our 2025-26 Boys High School Team of the Yearexcelled on the field, court, pool and more, bringing glory to their towns and forming lifelong memories.

But only one can bring home one more title.

Here are the nominees for the Daily News Boys High School Team of the Year:

Alognquin boys rugby

The Titans qualified for the state semifinals and earned the No. 1 seed in the Division 2 state tournament.

Dover-Sherborn boys soccer

The defending Division 3 champoins went back to the D3 state semifinals.

Dover-Sherborn/Weston hockey

After taking up the moniker “The Villains,” the Raiders returned to the Division 4 Final Four with a dramatic 2-1 win against North Reading.

Hopedale boys soccer

The Raiders reached the Division 5 state final for the first time.

Hopkinton boys indoor track & field

The Hillers nudged Concord-Carlislie to win the Division 2 team state championship by ½ a point.

Hudson football

The Hawks reached the Division 6 Final Four for the third consecutive year with a 34-7 win against Old Rochester.

Lincoln-Sudbury boys lacrosse

The Warriors powered through a challenging schedule and made the Division 1 state championship game. L-S produced three All-Americans and even more college commits.

Milford wrestling

The Scarlet Hawks won the Division 2 mixed-gender state championship with two individual champions and three silver medalists.

Milford boys volleyball

The Scarlet Hawks qualified for the Division 2 Final Four. Milford reached the stat esemifinals for the fourth time in the past five years.

Natick boys cross country

The Redhawks finished second at the Division 1 state championships led by runner up John Bianchi.

Natick boys soccer

The Redhawks captured their first state championship with a dramatic 3-2 victory against St. John’s Prep, completing a rare double with the girls team. Luke Dougherty was named an All-American for Natick.

Natick boys volleyball

The Redhawks reached the Division 1 state semifinals for the third consecutive year.

Wayland boys tennis

The Warriors run extended to the Division 3 state final.

Wayland boys volleyball

The Warriors won their first state championship in their third consecutive trip to the final. Wayland Finn Bell also broke the state record for kills.

Westborough boys tennis

The Rangers won the Division 2 state champoinship for the second time in the past three years. They reached the state final for the sixth consecutive year.

Our team of the year stories are meant as a way to highlight local high school athletes in the area. Making the list is an achievement in itself. Congratulations to all our athletes.
