One of the bigger storylines surrounding the United States Men’s National Team’s opening match against Paraguay wasn’t about their four-goal thrashing of the South American side; it was about the health of their star forward, Christian Pulisic.

The American forward was pulled after the first half by Mauricio Pochettino, heading into the second half of action, with some fearing that there might have been an injury. While there was initial worry, there wouldn’t be any answers for the concern over the course of the final half of play.

The latest on Pulisic’s halftime departure

But according to Fabrizio Romano, the American fanbase can take a sigh of relief, as Pulisic isn’t believed to have suffered any significant injuries, but rather has been pulled just as a precaution.

The decision to pull the AC Milan winger made complete sense at the time, given that the United States were up by three goals entering half-time, and it would be the right one, with the host country getting all three points as a result of their 4-1 victory over Paraguay.

Pulisic did have a big part in the first part of play, making several drives into the Paraguayan final third, with an assist to his name after Falorin Balogun bulged the back of the net in the 31st minute.

There is no further information from Romano regarding the health of the American forward and his availability for his team’s next match in the group stage, against Australia, which is set to happen in a week’s time. So it will be a storyline to follow in the days to come.
