Juventus have been linked with a move for Zion Suzuki during this transfer window as the Bianconeri push to replace Michele di Gregorio and ensure they have a stronger goalkeeper for their team.
PSG are leading the race for Suzuki after Juventus could not meet Parma’s asking price for the goalkeeper, but several reports suggest that the Bianconeri could sign him on loan for the season.
According to Calciomercato, an agreement could be reached to allow Suzuki to continue playing at the top level before he moves to Paris and becomes the first choice for the Ligue 1 giants.
Juventus consider a loan move
The Bianconeri see Suzuki as a top goalkeeper, so signing him on loan would allow them to address their need for a quality goalkeeper without paying a huge fee for his signature.
The men at the Allianz Stadium believe they could get value from such an arrangement, but for a top team that is being rebuilt, this type of deal makes almost no sense.
Juventus need to establish a long-term plan in goal rather than temporarily solving the position. A loan move for Suzuki could give them an immediate option, but it would also leave them needing to find another goalkeeper when the arrangement ends.
Juve should invest for the future
Juve have to get their own goalkeeper and start building with him for the long term instead of moving for one on loan and having to sign another goalkeeper in the summer of 2027.
A temporary deal could make sense if Juventus are simply buying time before signing a top goalkeeper such as Alisson Becker or Emi Martinez a year from now. However, the club should consider making a permanent investment if the right opportunity becomes available.
Even if signing their own goalkeeper costs a lot of money, Juventus should be prepared to make that commitment because they are a top club. Building around a long-term solution would give the Bianconeri greater stability in goal and avoid having to repeat the same search again in 2027.
For Juventus, Suzuki could provide a useful short-term solution, but a permanent goalkeeper should remain the priority if they want to build a stronger team for the future.
