A’ja Wilson has been ruled out of Tuesday night’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game.
In a big blow to the Las Vegas Aces‘ hopes against the New York Liberty, Wilson will not play at Barclays Center as the Aces try to win the WNBA’s in-season tournament for the second time.

Wilson was injured in the Aces’ last game, a 107-99 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
The four-time MVP rolled her right ankle in the fourth quarter of the win, but she returned to the floor to complete a 30-point, 15-rebound double-double.
“It’s all right,” Wilson said postgame. “It’s an ankle, so it’s going to snap back. But I should be good after some nice treatment.”
However, the turnaround from Chicago to New York has proven too soon for Wilson.

The Liberty will be without an All-Star of their own in Satou Sabally, who remains in the WNBA’s concussion protocol.
But Wilson is the WNBA’s biggest star and an absolute cheat code for the Aces. Their hopes of winning the Commissioner’s Cup take a hit without her.
