CORRY, Pa. – The West Suburban Little League 14-Under softball team won the Pennsylvania tournament late Friday night with an 11-0 victory over Troy.
West Suburban beat DuBois 4-1 to begin the tournament, then defeated Troy 16-0.
The 14-Under softball squad won District 7 and Section 4 crowns. West Suburban topped Mifflin County in the Section 4 championship game.
Members of the team are Reagan Bills, Jerzy Bopp, Abigail Claar, Kylie Ferguson, Adalyn Hines, Cameron Mash, Olivia O’Roark, Reese Pinizzotto, Bryn Roberts, Ireland Scott, Kylie Sweeney and Camdyn Westover.
The local team will compete in the East Region tournament Thursday through July 28 in Wilkes-Barre. West Suburban plays Maine at 4 p.m. Thursday. A host team combined with state champions from Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York will also play.
The East champion will compete in the Junior League Softball World Series Aug. 2-8 in Kirkland, Washington.
