Edgar Chairez was sensational from start to finish at UFC Fight Night 278.
Chairez (14-6 MMA, 4-2 UFC) was sharp from the bell of Saturday’s flyweight bout with Bruno Silva (15-9-2 MMA, 5-6 UFC) at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, landing hard strikes on his opponent before knocking him down, cutting him open then moving to the back for a rear-naked choke submission finish at the 4:13 mark of Round 1.
It was a strong showcase to elevate Chairez’s stock at 125 pounds, and you can watch the replay below (via X):

With three straight victories now for the Mexican, Chairez, 30, sent his message to the weight class that there is more to come.
“This is pure Mexican boxing,” Chairez said through an interpreter in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder. “I’m going to put people to sleep. I’m going to do this to everybody. Maybe it will be enough for the belt.”
