UCLA's Roch Cholowsky and Easton Hawk earn All-American honors

The 2026 season certainly didn’t end the way the UCLA Bruins had hoped, with the No. 1 team in the country falling in the Los Angeles Regional but the end result doesn’t take away the greatness that UCLA showed throughout the regular season.
The Bruins are still being rewarded for their efforts, with two Bruins being named All-Americans on Thursday. Star shortstop Roch Cholowsky was named to Baseball America’s First Team All-American while relief pitcher Easton Hawk was named to their Third Team All-American.

Hawk shined out of the bullpen for UCLA this season, registering a 1.93 earned run average with a record of 7-4. Hawk appeared in 34 games for the Bruins, striking out 52 batters in 42 innings.
In addition to a handful of All-American nominations, Cholowsky was named a finalist for college baseball’s most prestigious award, the Golden Spikes Award. Cholowsky is one of three finalists, joining Georgia’s Daniel Jackson and Arizona State’s Landon Hairston.

The Golden Spikes Trophy was introduced in 1978 and since then just one UCLA Bruin has won the award. Right-handed pitcher Trevor Bauer won the award in 2011, when he posted a 1.24 earned run average with 203 strikeouts in 138.1 innings pitched for UCLA.
Cholowsky posted some gaudy numbers in his own right for the Bruins this season, batting .320 with 21 home runs and 61 runs batted in. For his efforts, Cholowsky won his second-straight Big Ten Conference Player of the Year Award, with the UCLA shortstop being expected to hear his name called within the top few picks of this summer’s MLB Draft.
