Nick, Nate, and … Tommy?
Tommy McMillen is building his case as an unofficial third Diaz brother as his UFC Fight Night 280 win consisted of middle fingers, death by a thousand cuts, and a bloody TKO stoppage. What started as a back-and-forth battle quickly became a one-sided beatdown as McMillen finished rival Alberto Montes with strikes at the 3:29 mark of Round 3. The featherweight bout took place on the prelims at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
“He’s not cut like me, bro,” McMillen told Full Send MMA after the fight. “He’s in these interviews all week talking sh*t about me, running his mouth, saying I’m f*cking playing an act. He’s running his mouth about me. I’m running my mouth about him. But then I show up to weigh-ins or faceoffs yesterday and he goes to dap me up when I walk by him like it’s some kosher brother friendly sh*t. It’s like, ‘Bro.’
“I slapped his hand out of my face and told him to go f*ck himself. I’m like, ‘Hey, you’re running your mouth about me all week. Now you want to dap me up? I’m not like that. I’ll fight you right now.’ They made me go sit with a cop at the weigh-ins all day yesterday. I couldn’t be by everybody else because I was trying to fight him because he was running his mouth about me.”
McMillen has had a target on his back since his breakthrough on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2025. Whether it’s his personality or association with Sean O’Malley or just envy-driven doubt, McMillen said he’s not messing around – hence the comparison to the Diaz brothers both in fighting style and in mentality.
“I really do this sh*t,” McMillen said. “I’m a real American gangster. I think they just said I broke some record that one of the Diaz brothers was holding for significant strikes in a fight or a round or something. I’m the third Diaz brother, so it’s only right that record goes to me. I’m a real American gangster, motherf*ckers.”
