Good morning everyone –

There are some strange things going on at Forest Green Rovers.

As you all know, their manager Robbie Savage departed the club to join League One outfit Peterborough. The Post defeated Leicester City 3-1 this weekend.

Normally, when a manager departs a club, the club seek out a new manager. Well, Forest Green are doing something a little different.

Here’s what Rovers owner Dale Vince told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

“We’re not in a hurry and we aren’t actually having any conversations, we haven’t spoken to anyone about the role.

“We like where we are, we’re going to see how it goes maybe for a few games, maybe for a month.”

It’s certainly a bold strategy. But this is the kind of quirkiness that sets Forest Green apart from others. They’re looking to become the first vegan football club, using a system to turn fans’ urine into fertiliser, and their pitch is 100% organic. They are the first carbon-neutral football club in the world.

This is all great, but results matter too. Rovers were a League One club not long ago but are now struggling in the National League. They’re currently winless in their last five games and sit 16th in the National League, eight points adrift of the playoff spots and 20 from the lone automatic place.
