Summary: Not that long ago there was a recruit turning heads around the Louisville fanbase who chose the Cards over some high profile programs across the country, and came in looking to make a quick impact in the middle of the defense at linebacker. That player was projected started TJ Capers, now a Junior and a guy the defense will rely on heavily. Why do I bring him up here? Well, Cameron White is cut from a very similar mold.
A Top 30 linebacker according to ESPN, Cam held offers from defending champ Indiana, Michigan, Miami, and over half of the SEC programs across the south. Choosing the Cards last year was a big get for Brohm and staff, and getting him in here in 2025 he got an early start on building up a collegiate athletic build, and is looking to create chaos in just his second season as a RS freshman. While depth charts are worth about one a half Card Chronicle Dollar in July, the rumblings from the spring is that White was already getting placed on the two deep at middle linebacker, behind none other than…TJ Capers. The Tampa native is one to keep an eye on for sure, and his performance last season against EKU and UK, albeit brief, at linebacker showed they trusted him to go and make plays. Sprinkle in his time on special teams last year, and I think we see Cameron fairly consistently this year in the middle. This kid blows up and we might have our own version of the ‘Cameron Crazies’ right here in Louisville.
