As reported by SPORT, Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes arrived in Barcelona on Wednesday evening and immediately held talks with members of the club’s hierarchy as the summer transfer window enters a crucial phase.
The Portuguese representative landed shortly after 9:00 p.m. before heading to a hotel in the city, where he met with sporting director Deco and club advisor Alejandro Echevarria.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is also expected to be involved in discussions as the club continues to work through several key transfer matters.
Adeyemi presentation today
Mendes traveled to Barcelona primarily to attend the official presentation of Karim Adeyemi, scheduled for today at the Spotify Camp Nou.
The German winger’s transfer, worth €22 million plus €7 million in add-ons, was completed with little publicity and surprised many around the club, particularly as Barça had already signed Anthony Gordon earlier in the window.

With Raphinha already occupying one of the wide attacking positions, few expected Barcelona to reinforce both flanks in the same transfer window.
Nevertheless, the club secured both signings, with Adeyemi represented by Mendes.
More than just Adeyemi
Mendes’ visit extends beyond Adeyemi’s unveiling, with several important topics reportedly on the agenda.
One of them is the future of Marc Casado. Barcelona are open to discussing a potential departure for the midfielder, but any move would require the player’s approval before progressing.
Another unresolved issue concerns Joao Cancelo, who is still working to terminate his contract with Al Hilal before completing his permanent move to Barcelona.

Mendes also represents the Portuguese full-back and remains actively involved in those negotiations.
The agent’s client list also includes Alejandro Balde, although the left-back’s future is not currently considered a matter requiring immediate attention.
Busy days ahead
With Barcelona looking to finalise incoming transfers while also resolving several player departures, Mendes’ arrival comes at a pivotal moment in the club’s summer planning.
His close relationship with Laporta, Deco, and other senior figures at Barcelona continues to make him one of the most influential figures in the club’s transfer activity as preparations for the new season gather pace.
