The Boston Celtics have pretty much made it known that it’s possible for any team to come in and make a trade for Jaylen Brown.

Brown, undoubtedly one of the better players in the NBA, has to be feeling a certain way after the Celtics put him in trade talks involving Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is a better player than Brown, and I don’t say that in a bad way, but it’s just a reality.

However, knowing how he’s been in the past, it isn’t crazy to say that Brown is rightfully, or should be, upset about this.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, there is a feeling around the league now that Brown could be traded, and he actually expects a bidding war to play out. For teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and Atlanta Hawks, that’s something they’ll have to keep in the back of their mind.

“What I expect to happen, is a bidding war for Jaylen Brown,” Windhorst said. “In the most recent days, teams have been preparing for this eventuality. That it wouldn’t be the Boston Celtics who won the Giannis sweepstakes and that there would be a Jaylen Brown market, and now we’re going to watch that. I think it’ll take time to play out, but if there is a draft pick involved, it could happen today.”

Brown is one of those guys that definitely warrants a potential bidding war for. He’s as good as it gets in terms of a scorer, plays above-average defense, and is coming off a Finals MVP just a few years ago. The only thing holding him back is his contract, which is more than $300 million.
