The 2026 MLB Draft is officially in the rearview mirror, and the Texas Rangers’ newest additions are already making their mark.
ESPN MLB insider Kiley McDaniel recently released his updated rankings of each organization’s top 10 prospects, and a pair of 2026 draft picks immediately made Texas’ list. McDaniel’s top 10 Rangers prospects are as follows, with bolded names denoting 2026 draft picks:

- Gio Rojas, LHP
- David Davalillo, RHP
- Winston Santos, RHP
- Yolfran Castillo, SS
- A.J. Russell, RHP
- Josh Owens, SS/RHP

- Brody Bumila, LHP
Rojas was selected with the No. 16 overall pick after previously committing to the University of Miami. Regarded as the top high school pitcher in the 2026 Draft by MLB Pipeline, Rojas signed for a reported $4.6 million, below the $5.05 million value for his draft slot. The 6-foot-4 left-hander dominated during his senior season at Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S. (Parkland, FL), posting a 0.58 ERA with 124 strikeouts across 72.2 innings while leading the program to its sixth consecutive state championship.
Bumila was taken in the third round with the No. 89 overall pick after sliding due to concerns surrounding his left elbow. The 6-foot-9 left-hander was a likely first-round selection before he reinjured his UCL. The former University of Texas commit ultimately signed with the Rangers for $2.75 million, nearly $2 million above slot value. Bumila previously underwent internal brace surgery in May 2025 but returned for a dominant senior season at Bishop Feehan H.S. (Attleboro, MA), posting a 1.10 ERA with 106 strikeouts across 44.1 innings, including a 20-strikeout no-hitter in May. Bumila also excelled on the basketball court, leading Bishop Feehan to a state championship while averaging 30.6 points and 15.2 rebounds per game. His accomplishments earned him recognition as the MaxPreps Male National Athlete of the Year and Gatorade Massachusetts Baseball Player of the Year.
As Rojas, Bumila, and the rest of the class begin their professional careers, the Rangers will look to develop their newest additions into key pieces for the future.
