There are several recruiting services out there now to follow, and according to every one of them, Ohio State is putting together another top-class class for 2027. ESPN’s recruiting rankings have the Buckeyes at an almost unbelievable level, however — at least at the top end.
That’s because the Buckeyes are the only program in the country that has four of the top 15 ranked prospects regardless of class based on ESPN rankings. If you follow the recruiting at all, you likely already know the players. According to the “worldwide leader,” edge rusher DJ Jacobs is ranked No. 3 overall, behind only Texas Tech defensive tackle commit Jalen Brewster and Texas cornerback commit John Meredith III. Coming in at No. 11 overall and the No. 2 wide receiver, ESPN has wide receiver Jamier Brown. He is followed by Marcus Fakatou as the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 defensive tackle in the class and Caden Moss as the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 4 offensive tackle in the country.
That’s quite the haul, and when you compare it to other programs in the country, no other team has more than two of the top 15 in the ESPN rankings.

As good as that is, Ohio State has the possibility to add one more on Wednesday when five-star running back David Gabriel Georges announces his choice between the Buckeyes and Tennessee.
