Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026.

  1. UFC’s Hunter Campbell tried to save Joe Lauzon from ‘stupidest thing ever’ BKFC: ‘We’ll help you out’: I’m glad Joe Lauzon got to live a dream, but it’s nice to hear Campbell was looking out for the Lightweight OG.
  2. Another pay cut? BKFC boss admits Mike Perry loss ‘probably decreases his value a little bit’: Perry’s shoulder exploded, sure, but he still hasn’t lost in BKFC and is the reigning “King of Violence.” I wouldn’t accept a dime less if I were “Platinum,” who usually has all sorts of offers available.
  3. Song Yadong defends Usman Nurmagomedov after UFC Shanghai’s near-elbow: ‘Actually, I understand’: Usman should’ve have jumped the fence and gotten in the doctor’s way, but this was ultimately a nothing-burger.

Insomnia

Five new contracts were awarded at tonight’s Contender Series event. See the full results and highlights here!

New Darren Till rant just dropped! This time, “The Gorilla” is irritated at Daniel Cormier, head of the Dagestani Defense Squad.

Kai Asakura fractured his thumb knocking out Aoriqileng, but he’s still aiming to return before the end of the year.

I’m old enough to remember when Dan Hooker got real upset at Paul Felder for making an innocuous joke of a similar fashion.

Bryce Mitchell doesn’t believe in vaccines, the round Earth, or … leg locks?

I don’t even know what to say about this highlight edit except that it made me chuckle. Dumbest, best sport in the world!

At 39 years of age, Tim Elliott is still a top-notch Flyweight who never takes easy fights. He deserves every dollar of that raise!

Slips, rips, and KO clips

A great separator between the regional scene and world-class level is the ability to walk through shots that fold other men.

Reminder: Yuki Kondo fought as low as 158 pounds and as recently as last September.

The counter hook vs. straight right battle:

Random Land
