Both Guadalajara and FC Juarez come into Saturday’s clash at Estadio Akron without a point to their name in the 2026 Liga MX Apertura. Los Bravos succumbed 1-0 at home to Puebla last weekend, where Gabriel Milito’s men lost 2-0 against Toluca in a match that saw them finish with only 10 men.
Angel Sepulveda’s red card early in the first half against Toluca gave his side an even greater mountain to climb after they already found themselves a goal down. And Milito will need to make adjustments in attack if the hosts are to make more of a mark in Zapopan this time around.
It just so happens each of these teams have beaten one another on each other’s patch in each of their last two encounters. Juarez triumphed 2-1 in its last trip to Estadio Akron in August last year before the Goats returned the favor with a 1-0 victory in Chihuahua at the start of the year.
Former Cruz Azul and Santos Laguna coach Pedro Caixinha is under mounting pressure to turn the tide at Juarez after losing 10 of his first 19 games in charge. And leading Los Bravos to a second straight win in Zapopan would be the ideal way to do just that as he looks to curry favor and get his team off the mark.
