FSU baseball lands star lefty Cayden Suchy in transfer portal

Florida State baseball has made a major splash in the NCAA transfer portal, landing a commitment from UConn left-hander Cayden Suchy.

Suchy announced his commitment on social media, and the Tallahassee Democrat has confirmed the news. The 6-foot junior is coming off a season that earned him the Big East Pitcher of the Year honors and Big East First-Team.

He held a 2.72 ERA for the Huskies in 15 appearances, and he struck out 105 hitters over 89.1 innings pitched. He’s a dynamic arm that provides the Seminoles with an option to replace Wes Mendes and Trey Beard as lefties in the rotation.

He is the second commitment for the program, joining Jackson McKenzie in committing to the Seminoles.
