Mikal Bridges finally got his NBA championship ring, and he grabbed his phone and went live on Instagram.
Less than two days after the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs to win their first NBA championship since 1973, Bridges hopped on Instagram Live and delivered a hilarious, unfiltered diatribe that quickly spread across social media. Things got so intense that even Jalen Brunson asked someone to take his teammate’s phone.

Bridges had nothing but love for Finals MVP Jalen Brunson. He called Brunson the GOAT and made goat sounds while joking that the Knicks captain deserves his own statue outside Madison Square Garden.

Becky Hammon’s “1A” Comments Motivated Brunson
Bridges also revealed that Becky Hammon’s comments earlier in the postseason, calling Brunson a “1A” player instead of a true No. 1, became motivation. In Bridges’ eyes, Brunson responded the only way possible: by winning a championship.
“I appreciate Becky no cap because the words she said about can’t win with JB being 1A, 1B, he too little…all that did is fuel that n***a bro. Even after beating the Spurs in five games, Bridges wasn’t done talking trash. While calling teammate Jeremy Sochan a “savage” for guarding Victor Wembanyama in the closing seconds of Game 5, Bridges referred to Wemby as the “French Prince N***a.”

Bridges also shouted out his teammate Karl-Anthony Towns when a fan asked if the seven-foot big man was with him. While telling the fan that KAT was more than likely catching some sleep he affectionately called him a “big foot ass n****.”

Believes Ariel Hukporti Lied on His Birth Certificate
No teammate was safer from jokes than Ariel Hukporti. While Bridges told viewers he might show his age by his music choices, he shouted out the young people in the IG Live before roasting Hukporti. Bridges joked that he must have lied on his birth certificate because of how old he looks.

Calls James Dolan a Savage for 10-Week Sex Ban
One of the night’s most funniest moments came when Bridges confirmed Knicks owner James Dolan told players not to have sex for 10 weeks during the playoff run. Bridges also used the moment to tell Knicks owner James Dolan to build the team a practice facility in New York City. The team’s current facility is in Westchester.
“Dolan, James Dolan you don’t think he a savage bro? 10 weeks he brought n***as in said 10 weeks don’t have no sex, lock in? N***as a savage,” said Bridges. “He could be a bigger savage and build a practice facility in the city, but he’s still a savage.”

In one of the more random moments of the stream, Bridges played “Lost!” by Coldplay and revealed he wishes he could’ve been in the studio when the band recorded the song.

Bridges shared a story about Chris Paul sending him a Brooklyn Nets football helmet after he was traded there years ago. Bridges laughed while jokingly calling Paul an “old ass n****” and a troll while also admitting he needs a signed jersey from former Phoenix Suns teammate Devin Booker.
