ESPN college hoops analyst expects another twist in Sorsby saga

Everyone from all corners of the sports world has weighed on in the Brendan Sorsby saga at Texas Tech, and we can add ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas to the list.
The former Duke basketball player is a practicing attorney and believes that fans will have to brace for one more major update in the Sorsby case.
“(The ruling) was immediately appealed by the NCAA, and I think it’ll get overturned on appeal,” Bilas said on The Rich Eisen Show. “It was, in my judgment, a pretty odd ruling.”
Bilas spoke about what the appeal would look like, and doubled down on his belief that Sorsby will once again be ruled ineligible to suit up for the Red Raiders.
“I just can’t imagine that standing up…in order to get a preliminary injunction you have to show irreparable harm, which I think Sorsby could make a good argument for, but you also have to show a likelihood of success on the merits of trial, and I don’t think there’s any likelihood that he would win a trial,” Bilas stated.
Stay tuned, as Bilas’ commentary and reaction from around college football indicate this situation might be a long way from over.
