Erling Haaland would be acknowledged by most as the best striker in the world right now.
Haaland is in North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to lead the line for Norway, and he’s as dangerous a goal scorer as there will be in the tournament.
One legendary scorer, though, isn’t as impressed.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a Swedish legend who is now retired and working on the broadcast crew for Fox, isn’t shy about touting his own abilities.
So on Thursday’s pregame show, as the crew discussed Haaland, Ibrahimovic called him one-dimensional.
Zlatan went on to say that if Haaland gets two chances, he will score two goals.
And if Zlatan gets two chances? He says he would score three goals.
This Zlatan guy is nuts😂
He said the difference between him and Haaland is that Haaland has two touches two goals but Zlatan has two touches three goals. This man isn’t real 💀

That wasn’t all, either. Part of the crew as well was Alexi Lalas, the one-time United States defender.
Lalas was asked how he felt about Haaland compared to Zlatan. And to add to the fun, he said he preferred the current Manchester City man as opposed to his colleague.
This won’t be the last time these two proud, slightly silly men go at it during Fox’s broadcast of the 2026 World Cup. But they’re off to quite the start.
