Deco meets Dani Olmo’s agent amid Bayern interest in Barcelona star

Barcelona sporting director Deco has reportedly met with Dani Olmo’s agent amid talk of interest in the World Cup winner from Bayern Munich.
Deco and Juanma López met on Thursday to “analyse the player’s current situation and find out first-hand the intentions of both parties,” according to Diario Sport.
Bayern are long-time admirers of Olmo and are said to be still interested in the forward, particularly in case they lose either Michael Olise or Jamal Musiala.
Olmo is aware of the interest from the Bundesliga giants but is not thinking about leaving and so far there has been no formal offer from Bayern.
The meeting also served to talk about Olmo’s current role. The forward would like more minutes as he “wants to feel important and to have a leading role in the team.”
Barca’s stance is that they continue to have full confidence in Olmo and conveyed the message he must be patient as he will have “opportunities to prove his worth and gain weight in Flick’s plans.”
Hansi Flick was asked about Olmo ahead of Saturday’s match against Real Betis and was full of praise for the 28-year-old.
“For me, Dani is an incredible player and a great person. It’s the combination of his skills as a footballer and his character. I really appreciate what I see in him, and he’s shown it on the pitch,” he explained.
“In the last six months, he’s improved a lot, and we know he’s a fantastic player who gives us a lot. We know he can play as a number 9; it’s not easy, and he’s shown that on several occasions, both with us and with the national team.”
The chances of Olmo leaving Barcelona are said to be “very unlikely” despite the continued interest from Bayern.
