Dak rebounds, big tumble for Lamb: Cowboys land 4 players on CBS Sports' Top 100 list
The Cowboys have high hopes heading into 2026, with a lethal offensive attack from the prior year coming back in nearly full force and a revamped defense that, on paper, has observers excited about the team’s overall prospects.
It’s that team concept, more so than individual superstars dotting the roster, that will propel the Cowboys to postseason success if they are to get there this season. Still, fielding elite players at key positions raises the ceiling for everyone.
Having now entered peak list season in the NFL’s annual offseason calendar, CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco recently kicked things off with his rundown of the league’s Top 100 players for 2026.
Four Cowboys have made the cut, the same number as last year’s list. But two of the names have been swapped out for new ones. Micah Parsons, of course, was still a Cowboy when Prisco’s 2025 list was released and sits at No. 12 for this season despite wearing Packers green and gold. And Tyler Smith dropped off the countdown entirely after appearing at No. 98 last summer.
Here’s a look at where the Cowboys’ four top talents landed on Prisco’s current list.
43. QB Dak Prescott
Way up from No. 90 thanks to his brilliant 2025 campaign, Prescott looks to keep the Dallas offensive attack rolling in 2026. Just five quarterbacks ranked ahead of Prescott on this year’s list, all of them- Stafford, Allen, Burrow, Mahomes, and Jackson- in Prisco’s Top 10.
54. DT Quinnen Williams
Williams was at No. 48 on last year’s list while he was still wearing a Jets uniform. He instantly upgraded the Dallas defense for their final seven games and has been a foundational piece for the 2026 rebuild under new coordinator Christian Parker.
60. WR CeeDee Lamb
Lamb sees a fall from No. 27 on last summer’s list. That’s due partly to his missing a handful of games due to a high ankle sprain and partly to George Pickens stealing targets. But, as Prisco points out, Lamb’s yards-per-catch average reached a career-high 14.4 last season. That’s very encouraging.
66. WR George Pickens
Pickens had yet to suit up for Dallas when Prisco’s 2025 list came out, but he wasn’t on the list anyway. What a difference a year makes. Pickens logged personal-best totals in targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns, got his first Pro Bowl nod, and earned second-team All-Pro honors.
