Wakefield Trinity have signed hooker Mason Teague on a two-year contract ahead of the 2027 season.

Cook Islands international Teague will join from Queensland Cup side Burleigh Bears.

He will replace Tyson Smoothy as the Australian returns home to new NRL side Perth Bears.

The 23-year-old is the fourth player signed by Wakefield for 2027, following Cameron Smith, Roger Tuivassa-Sheck and Emre Guler.

“Wakefield are an incredibly strong club who are really going places and going well this year and I hope I can add to that upon joining,” he told the club’s website.

“With the signings the club have made for next season, I know this club can kick on again.”

Trinity are currently second in Super League with seven rounds of the season remaining.
