Clippers Sign G League Defensive Player of the Year to Two-Way Contract

The Los Angeles Clippers reportedly signed free agent center Jamarion Sharp to a two-way contract, his agent Scott Nichols told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

After going undrafted out of Ole Miss in the 2024 NBA Draft, Sharp had a standout 2025-26 season with the Texas Legends in the G League. Sharp was named the 2025-26 G League Defensive Player of the Year, earned a spot on the G League’s All-Defensive team and finished the season as the G League’s blocks leader with an average of 3.8 per game.

In addition to being one of the best defenders in the G League, the 25-year-old shot a league-leading 71.2% from the field last season.

In college with Western Kentucky, Sharp also led the NCAA in blocks in back-to-back seasons, averaging 4.6 per game during the 2021-22 season and 4.1 per game in the 2022-23 season.

During NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this year, Sharp averaged 7.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in 18.2 minutes per game across five appearances with the Toronto Raptors.

Sharp Claims The Clippers’ Third Two-Way Roster Spot

Sean Pedulla, who was another standout in Summer League this year and the 2025-26 G League Rookie of the Year, signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Clippers in February. Meanwhile, 2026 second-round pick Nick Martinelli signed a two-way deal with Los Angeles in July.

There are a total of three two-way roster spots, and now, Sharp is claiming the third and final spot. Therefore, the Clippers will not have to make any corresponding moves to make space for Sharp on the roster.
