Cincinnati Reds select UCLA 1B Levu with 70th pick in 2026 MLB draft

PHILADELPHIA — The Cincinnati Reds nabbed another college hitter with a good glove with their third pick in the 2026 MLB Draft on Saturday, July 11.

After taking shortstops with their first two picks, the Reds selected UCLA first baseman Mulivai Levu with the 70th overall pick of the draft.

UCLA Bruins first baseman Mulivai Levu  hits a triple against the Arkansas Razorbacks during the ninth inning at Charles Schwab Field.

He is a two-time NCAA Division I Gold Glove winner and hit .340 with 18 home runs and a 1.063 OPS for the Bruins, who were the top seed in the NCAA tournament before being upset in the regionals.

The lefty slugger was the 62nd-ranked prospect in the draft by MLB Pipeline, 79th by Baseball America.

Levu, 21, is from Irvine, California.
