The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff has been doing their thing on the recruiting trail ever since Will Stein was announced as the head coach. The staff picked up some very talented commitments during their first official visit weekend just one week ago.

The coaching staff planned to have more visitors on campus this upcoming weekend, but due to an unfortunate tragedy, those plans have changed.

On Monday, it was announced that defensive lineman Nic “Happy” Smith passed away at the age of 20. The coaching staff has been taking time to mourn the loss of the young man, and the coaches have made sure the players are their first priority in what has been a tough week for the program.

That includes pushing all of this weekend’s visits back by one week as the team mourns the loss of Smith. So any recruit that was set to visit Lexington this weekend will now likely visit the following weekend.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Smith and his family.
